1. Overview

LangReel ("the app") is a language-learning app built around short videos and quizzes. This policy explains the information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: Email address, display name, and a user identifier supplied by your authentication provider.
• Learning data: The study language and level you choose, quiz answers and results, your progress, completed categories and tests, streaks, saved phrases, and app settings. While you are signed in, progress and review items are synced to your account separately for each study language. Some settings are also kept on your device.
• Local notifications: If you enable a learning reminder, the notification permission and schedule are managed on your device. The app does not register or store a push notification token.
• Purchase information: Subscription status, product, purchase identifiers, and entitlements. We do not store credit card numbers.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to provide the app, authenticate accounts, deliver and play learning content and audio, schedule on-device reminders, verify purchases, provide support, and fix problems. We do not sell personal information for advertising or track users for third-party advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

The app uses Supabase for authentication, syncing learning progress, content delivery, and storage; Apple or Google for optional sign-in; the Apple App Store or Google Play for distribution and payments; and RevenueCat for subscription status. Learning audio is generated with Google Gemini. Only the predefined lesson text is sent for audio generation — never account information or learning progress. Each provider processes only the information it needs to deliver its function.

5. Retention and Security

Account information, synced learning data, and purchase entitlements are kept for as long as we need them to provide the service, or as long as the law requires. Data held on your device may remain there until you reset it in the app or delete the app. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

6. Account Deletion

You can request account deletion from the profile or settings area in the app. If you cannot access the app, submit a request through the account deletion page. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription.

7. Children's Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
